Bobcat Company is expanding its lineup in a major way with the launch of new heavy construction equipment. Four large wheel loaders and two large excavators will be available at select North American dealerships beginning mid-Q2 2025, giving operators more options, more power and more capability for the most demanding job sites.
“As a leader in the compact equipment industry, we are always looking to best serve our customers with product enhancements and new solutions to help them accomplish more,” said Brad Claus, vice president of construction equipment at Bobcat. “These heavy construction products offer even greater power and performance, giving customers more options to tackle their toughest work.”
New Large Wheel Loaders Designed for Big Performance
Joining the Bobcat lineup are four new large wheel loaders: L205, L235, L255 and L285. Each model is purpose-built for high-production lifting, load-and-carry work and the daily demands of construction, agriculture, manufacturing and infrastructure projects.
Engineered for Heavy-Duty Tasks
Bobcat large wheel loaders bring the strength and durability needed for demanding applications like site prep, material handling and long-distance carry operations.
Bucket capacities include:
L205: 2.5 cubic yards
L235: 3 cubic yards
L255: 3.5 cubic yards
L285: 3.5 cubic yards
Transmission Modes for Every Job
The L235, L255 and L285 include three operator-selectable transmission modes:
Manual: For precision control
Auto 1–4: Automatically shifts for the necessary torque and power
Auto 2–4: Ideal for lighter-duty work with flexible shifting
Power Modes for Fuel-Smart Performance
Every model offers three power modes:
Power Mode: Maximum performance
Normal Mode: Balanced everyday operation
Economy Mode: Reduced fuel consumption
All units are powered by a turbo-charged Tier 4 engine for consistent performance at varying elevations.
Operator-Focused Design
Bobcat prioritized comfort and efficiency with features including:
Spacious cab with adjustable air suspension seat
8-inch touchscreen display
Joystick controls
Rear-view camera
Telescopic and tilt steering
Automatic heat and air conditioning
Front and rear LED work lights
Bluetooth connectivity
Customers can equip large wheel loaders with pin-on attachments or select from two quick coupler options. These heavy loaders complement Bobcat’s compact wheel loader lineup, including the L65, L85 and L95.
New Large Excavators Deliver Power, Control and Precision
Bobcat’s heavy construction expansion also includes two new large excavators: the E220 and E245.
Both models deliver the strong digging forces, high lift capabilities and fast cycle times required for large-scale projects such as commercial builds, road construction and infrastructure installation.
Built for Tough Digging and Heavy Lifting
E220 Digging Depth: 21 ft 7 in
E245 Digging Depth: 21 ft 11 in
Bucket Digging Force: 35,464 lbf (both models)
Their fine swing function allows the upper structure to slow gradually, reducing spillage and providing greater precision when placing materials.
Tier 4 Performance With No DPF
The excavators meet Tier 4 emissions requirements without a diesel particulate filter (DPF), reducing maintenance needs and eliminating downtime from regeneration cycles.
Four Power Modes for Full Control
Operators can tailor performance with:
Power+ Mode: Maximum speed for fast truck loading and heavy digging
Power Mode: Strong lifting and travel performance
Standard Mode: Balanced digging and lower fuel usage
Economy Mode: Optimized fuel savings
Their Smart Power Control system automatically adjusts engine RPM, hydraulic pump torque and machine response for maximum efficiency.
Operator Comfort and Jobsite Visibility
The E220 and E245 come equipped with:
Steel tracks
Four work modes: one-way flow, two-way flow, digging and lifting
8-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth
Side- and rear-view cameras
LED work lights
Premium heated air-suspension seat
Both models also include standard hydraulic quick coupler piping and 2-way piping controlled by thumb wheel or foot pedal.
Backed by Strong Warranty and Dealer Support
The E220, E245, L205, L235, L255 and L285 models—along with existing large excavators E145 and E165—are backed by a 3-year/5,000-hour full coverage warranty and supported by Bobcat’s extensive dealer network.
