When Mohamed Edelbi immigrated to the United States from Syria in 1999, he was determined to build a new life rooted in hard work and opportunity. After settling in Kentucky following a brief period in Colorado, he eventually turned a layoff into a life-changing moment—launching a business powered by grit, community and a deep loyalty to Bobcat equipment.

Starting From Scratch — and Swinging Big

In 2004, Mohamed founded Homerun’s Friendly Yard Works, named after a client’s playful take on his middle name, Omran, and his upbeat personality. With nothing more than a Bobcat® S220 skid-steer loader, a borrowed trailer and a commitment to delivering quality work, he set out to build a customer base from the ground up.

“I had no clients, but I told myself, ‘I’ll find the work,’” Mohamed recalls.

And he did. Word of mouth quickly spread, fueled by his reliability, strong work ethic and genuine connection with customers. As demand increased, so did his equipment needs—prompting him to upgrade from his first machine to more powerful, versatile Bobcat models.

Growing a Business With Bobcat Equipment

As his company expanded, Mohamed added landscaping, trenching, fencing, brush clearing, driveway work and snow removal to his services. A major part of that growth was the evolution of his equipment lineup.

Today, his fleet includes machines like the Bobcat T86 compact track loader, which he relies on for heavy earthmoving and land-clearing tasks. Attachments such as:

Comfort is also a standout feature for Mohamed. The air-ride seat, climate-controlled cab and ergonomic controls make long days more productive—especially for someone constantly moving between job sites.

“It’s like having an office on the go,” he adds.

A Farm Built With Determination and Bobcat Efficiency

Beyond running a successful service business, Mohamed is passionate about farming. Starting with just one calf in Baghdad, Kentucky, he gradually expanded his livestock operation and eventually purchased 156 acres in Southville, Kentucky.

Today, he raises more than 90 head of antibiotic-free cattle, driven by his mission to promote sustainable agriculture.

“Food doesn’t just come from grocery stores—it’s a lifestyle,” he says.

Bobcat equipment continues to play a vital role on the farm. His Bobcat E55 compact excavator helps trench waterlines, repair fencing and manage utilities, while the T86 handles brush clearing, hay movement, feed prep and general land management.
