Josh Duhamel and Bobcat Company Donate UV34XL Utility Vehicle to Los Angeles Fire Department

Bobcat ambassador Josh Duhamel joins Bobcat Company in donating a Bobcat UV34XL utility vehicle to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s first full-time wildland hand crew through the brand’s ongoing “Work Worth Doing” campaign. Learn how this partnership is helping equip LAFD firefighters with tools they need to serve the community.

Bobcat Company and brand ambassador Josh Duhamel recently came together to support some of California’s bravest first responders. In a special surprise event, Duhamel delivered a brand-new Bobcat UV34XL utility vehicle to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Station 88. The donation was made as part of Bobcat’s “Work Worth Doing” campaign, an initiative designed to spotlight and support individuals and organizations making a difference in their communities.

The LAFD’s Station 88 is home to the department’s first full-time, paid wildland hand crew. These firefighters are on the front lines of combating the growing threat of wildfires throughout California’s rugged and often hard-to-reach terrain. The Bobcat UV34XL UTV will now serve as a critical tool for these wildland firefighters, providing increased mobility and hauling capacity during wildfire response and prevention operations.

Josh Duhamel personally handed over the keys to the new UTV during a surprise visit to the station. “It takes a special kind of person to sign up as a firefighter, especially in a place like Los Angeles where wildfires run rampant,” Duhamel shared. “We believe that firefighters deserve the best tools out there, and I’m honored to be part of this effort to help them do their jobs more effectively.”

The UV34XL utility vehicle offers excellent off-road capability and cargo capacity, making it an ideal choice for supporting the LAFD’s wildland crew. It will help the team navigate challenging terrain, transport essential equipment, and move personnel more efficiently during wildfire suppression and prevention efforts.

LAFD Public Information Officer Capt. Adam VanGerpen highlighted the value of the new UTV: “This will enhance our hand crew’s efficiency in mitigating and fighting wildfires. The more versatile equipment we have, the more effective we can be in protecting our community.”

The donation is part of Bobcat’s broader “Work Worth Doing” campaign, which has already featured impactful stories from other brand ambassadors this year. Earlier in May, Chip Gaines surprised a U.S. veteran with a Bobcat T595 compact track loader to support his landscaping business. Additional stories from ambassadors such as country artist Justin Moore and BMX athlete Ryan Nyquist are planned throughout the year.

In addition to donating the UV34XL UTV, Bobcat is contributing a portion of proceeds from a limited-edition hat—worn by Duhamel during the event—to the LAFD Foundation. These funds will help the department further equip its teams and support their ongoing mission.

Bobcat’s partnership with the LAFD and the “Work Worth Doing” campaign reflect the brand’s ongoing commitment to giving back to communities and supporting those who dedicate their lives to serving others. By providing tools that empower people to do important work—whether on a jobsite, in a field, or on the front lines of a wildfire—Bobcat continues to show that the right equipment in the right hands can make a lasting impact.
